Only 4% of women
around the world consider themselves beautiful
Anxiety about appearance begins at an early age. 6 out of 10 girls are so concerned with the way they look, they participate less in daily life.
To help improve kids body confidence and self-esteem, Dove has developed the 'Confident Me' Self-Esteem Workshop. We're on a mission to help the next generation develop a positive relationship with the way they look, helping them raise their self-esteem and realise their full potential.
Making a difference starts here
At Dove, research shows that 6 out of 10 girls are so concerned with the way they look, they participate less in daily life.
We've designed this workshop for students aged 11 to 14, helping them to develop strategies that enhance body confidence and self-esteem in general. We believe that self-esteem is vital to the healthy development of all children.
Dove have worked with leading experts and a range of youth organisations to develop the materials in Confident Me - a series of interactive activities that you can run in your classroom lasting approximately 45 minutes.
This workshop helps students build body confidence and avoid valuing themselves and others on the basis of appearance. The workshop utilises discussion, role-play, analysing examples of advertising, watching videos and completing activities, so that students gain the skills and confidence to be the best version of themselves.
UK trials have proved that students participating in the Confident Me workshop gained improved body image, greater body appreciation, higher self-esteem and feel more confidence when participating in social and academic activities.
We’ve partnered with some of the most inspiring and impactful organisations and experts from around the world to help tackle self-esteem and body confidence issues.
We are dedicated to helping the next generation of women develop a positive relationship with the way they look, helping them to raise their self-esteem and realise their full potential.
To help us do that, we seek out and work with partners who really get it. They know and work with girls and young women every day and are as passionate as we are about creating a world free from beauty-related anxieties. From local groups active in small communities to large scale global partnerships, they include academics, psychotherapists, film makers, fashion designers, youth leaders and teachers we work together to help girls develop the confidence they need to be true to who they are, and realise their full potential. Some of our partners provide valuable expertise in developing our resources and materials, others provide the people power we need to get them seen. All of them inspire us every day.
Together we’re doing whatever it takes to put a stop to beauty-related anxieties. Want to help? Explore our self-esteem toolkits and resources, and join us in the battle against low self-esteem.
